March 14th Furbowl CANCELED

Hello everyone, much has changed in the past 24 hours.. COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic and the health department switching from isolation to mitigation it’s all become clear that we are in a public health crisis. Yesterday March 11th Gov. Gavin Newsom called on all events with more than 250 people throughout the state to be postponed or canceled, at least until the end of March, because of concerns about the new coronavirus. Furbowl has an attendance less than that, however the guidelines also recommended that smaller events implement social distancing of 6 feet per person. Due to projected rains this weekend forcing activities indoors I do not believe we can achieve that buffer. Add to that concern the multiple Coronavirus cases recently reported in Sacramento County and I can no longer with confidence say that our community would be safe at Furbowl at this time.

For these reasons Furbowl @ Fireside for March 14 2020 is CANCELED at this time.

Though I know this announcement may cause more fear, remember the most important thing is to not panic. COVID-19 while much more serious then the Flu is a virus that spreads the same ways thus limiting social contact, coughing into your elbow, washing hands constantly for at least 20 sec, and avoiding touching your face can all prevent exposure.

The situation is ongoing and continues to develop so this may not affect plans for next month so keep an eye on social media and for further information of the status of Furbowl @ Fireside in April. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
