Furry Snow day March 7th 2010

With one of the last good winter storms blowing through this week making some of the last fresh snow we’ll see in the Sierras for the season, it has been decided by myself and some others that one day this weekend (either Saturday March 6th or Sunday March 7th) would be a good time to head up into the mountains to play in it.

Weather:
The weather report for Sunday calls for scattered snow flurries but nothing major.

Costs involved:
$20 for a day of tubing (not just two hours as first thought) optional
Money for Carpool drivers if you intend to join carpools. To be negotiated with carpool drivers
general spending money for lunch or other purchases.

Times and locations:

11:00 am assemble at the Taylor & I-80 Park and Ride (next to Sunsplash) in Roseville.
?:?? possible lunch on the way.
1:30 pm (at latest) arrive at Soda Springs Resort
1:30 - 5 pm tubing and snow fun.
5:00 pm Depart Resort
7:00 pm arrive back in Sacramento area.

Next big meet will be at AceKitsunamis house. Nice house loads of space. This will probably a bit more rowdy as I know drinking will be going on. Again there will be rock band and various other video games.

Sacfurs 6th Anniversary Meet - Feb 13th 2010

It’s been 6 years since we started our regular group meets and as usual we’re going to celebrate. We are unfortunately not going back to Wiener Works though as last year we packed the place so tight there was hardly any space to move. Thus this year we’re going to meet at the China Buffet in Citrus Hights, they claim their group dining room can seat up to 200 so there should be ample room.

Cost: Buffet $12.99 plus $1.29 for drink plus tax.
They accept Cash and all Credit Cards.

WHEN: Saturday February 13th - 8pm

WHERE: The China Buffet near sunrise mall in their group dining room.

Marina, Whyte Yoté, Tym, and Ellis’ birthdays are all this week. Marina’s on the 4th, Yote’s on the 5th, Ellis and Tym’s on the 6th. We will be celebrating on the 6th at Monster Minigolf.

WHAT: Completely Black light lit glowing mini golf, with monsters.
HOW MUCH: Free to enter, $7.50 a person to play, but there is also an arcade, and people can just wander the course with others that are playing as well

Trip to Apple Hill - November 7th 2009

WHAT: Traveling up to Apple Hill and exploring the attractions there. Some of us will also be obtaining pies, ciders, and other items there. (more info to come soon)

WHEN: Meet in Folsom at 11:30am Saturday November 7th 2009.

WHERE: Meet in the parking lot of the Broadstone plaza Shopping center in Folsom near the Gamestop around 11:30am and then carpool up to Apple Hill between Placerville and Camino. If anyone wants or needs to take RT lightrail into Folsom please contact me and I can arrange to meet you at the Hazel Avenue station.

Farm visitation list as it currently stands:

Boa Vista (Farmer’s market and crafts)
High Hill Ranch (lots of crafts and attractions to see, a bit crowded though)
Honey Bear Ranch (they have had great fudge in the past and they have a restaurant we could have a late lunch at however the next location might also have some food choices I can’t recall..)
Rainbow Orchards (Great selection of apple products, Friendly people, and a bit less crowded since it’s further away from the highway.)
Jack Russell Farm Brewery (According to the Apple Hill events calender they’re having a Guy Fawkes Celebration on the 7th here, it might be worth checking out)
Kid’s Inc (walking pies and apple cider)
