Heavy snow and bad road conditions have made it extremely difficult to get into the Sierras today with chains required for higher elevations. I had really wanted for us to be able to go but it’s just not that safe to do so at this time. I’m investigating the possibility of attempting things again later this week or next weekend though and will update those interested if and when such plans form.
Date: Sunday march 6th.
- 10am meet up at a park and ride in Roseville CA to join those coming from the SF Bay Area and finalize carpools. Plans for a quick lunch will also be discussed at this time.
- 1pm arrival at Northstar. Cost would be $32 for two hours or $44 for three hours. includes a Gondola Ride to mid Mountian.
- 3 or 4 pm, at this point we would proceed to Truckee River Regional Park or Donner Memorial State Park to play in the snow a bit more and some time to fursuit in the snow for those who are interested in doing that.
- 5:30 or later. We’ll decide on a restaurant to go to warm up and have dinner.

More information about Northstar: Two long runs connected by a tube lift that pulls the tube up the hill while you are riding in it. End of runs have a J hook to them. Chains of tubes are allowed. Runs are located Mid Mountain which requires a Gondola Ride which is included in cost to access them. Cost is $21 for the first hour $12 for each additional hour.
Those interested in going and tubing please RSVP to this thread so I can phone the resort to make sure we have a spot.
